Easy Peasy Christmas Decor Ideas

Jingle bells

Its that time of the year again....how much I love this..... the smell of the winters....cozy blankets... hot chocolates...decked up markets in hues of red green and white along with shiny baubles sprinkled along here and there....

The whole aura is so festive....both inside and outside our homes.... we all try to recreate the magical childhood with Christmas trees, gifts, socks, Santa and all the new resolutions to be taken next year jotted somewhere in our minds....

Mine was a Christian school....all I remember is singing different carols in the morning assembly with the loudest of our voices...and doing dance steps along with it....[I hated doing those stupid steps....aarrgghhh]...then we were treated to the yummiest choco walnut cake...decorating the Christmas trees in our classrooms....but then I never knew how these little joys will become a part of my memory that I will cherish forever...

Now that Christmas is not away, I was looking for some easy ways to bring in the Christmas festivity in our homes....and after getting much inspiration from Pinterest...I have jotted down few essential items for some easy peasy decor.

  • Candles- I will go for vanilla scented ones.
  • Fairy lights
  • Flowers....red, white and few sprigs of greens
  • Shiny baubles
Plus I have decided to bring out my silverware and bring in my pine tree to add more chutzpah. Have a look at some of the easy peasy decor ideas for Christmas to feel all festive.

Say hello to the newly weds ;)

Hi there!

Terracotta always attracts me towards itself. I have a weakness for the fabulous things that are being made of this gorgeous red sand. They add perfect ethnic and warm touch to your garden and completely gels with the gorgeous greens of the plants.
Latest addition to my terracotta animal kingdom is this beautiful couple that we will call Mr. and Mrs. Snail.[The taller one is the Mister and the other smaller one is his Missus.]. Earlier I had a family of turtles bossing around in the garden, but now we have got them new neighbours.
Turtle family having their zen moment:)

Now I just hope, that these three naughty turtles do not take advantage of sober family of Snails and bully them.

Let see, who will be the next to enter in our very own animal kingdom. Do you also have a soft corner for terracotta and quirky planters? Share you love in the comments section.

Some ethnic Love from Jaipur to my home

Hey!

A trip to Jaipur recently, led us to do a lot of shopping since we were there for a wedding function of a distant relative. Jaipur is a phenomenal city where inspiration is present in abundance. The city is superbly gorgeous with blues, pinks and other brights being a part of there decor. From jewellery to home decor items at a very reasonable rates, this city has it all.
Step into the local market and you can find plethora of shops selling gorgeous blue pottery, carved wooden furniture and antiques at very very reasonable rates.[Approximately 1/3rd of the rates we find on various online websites selling the same stuff.]
We shopped at the government run handloom store and as soon as we entered, we were lost.... the store was full of lovely jharokas, furnitures, mirrors and what not. We were like a bunch of small kids in a candy shop who wants to buy every single thing.
Have a look at some of the ethnic stuff we got from Jaipur.

We got a pair of these carved wooden side tables for our living room.

This set of wooden chair and table now adorns my room.

Look at these turtle stools...they were love at first sight.

Can you spot my lovely little jharokhas?

                                                                  Pardon the messy room!

Hello Loves! Their were plenty of options for jharoka designs, but we got a pair of these cuties. By the way, this wall clock is brought from an online store, but they also sourced it from Rajasthan.

Perfect location for my morning cuppa!!

Have you ever been to Rajasthan? Do tell me your experience in the comments section below?

When life gives you lemons!!!!

Or may be something else;). Well, this season, we are reaping the fruits of what we had sown last season. LEMONS IT IS. Last season we got home two small plants of lemons (different types) and got them planted in the backyard. Its just been a year and we are getting gorgeous lemons. Though they are still green in color but still looks so pretty. The gardener says it will take another month or two for them to change color.
Have a lookie of these gorgeous citrus!
The very first type of lemons.

Ohhh, and these are small narangis growing in our front garden.

See these gorgeous narangis in this post.

This is the second variety of lemons.

We are surrounded by citrus from all around. Will be surely having many more glasses of lemonade now....yeaah.
On another note, these can also be very defensive. If not lemonades, these can be used for another purpose too. See the picture below.

GREEN TEA

Hey All!
This post is not at all about any green tea recipe.Instead it will be focused on my fetish with greens. The other day when I was cleaning the crockery table while talking on my mobile, I broke the kettle's top....oooopssss.... To put the remaining kettle to good use, I used it as a planter and planted some gorgeous greens into it. And guess what, the plant is blooming in it beautifully. Sharing some pictures with you all.

Quick Tips:

  • Never miss any opportunity to plant some greens. If your space does not allow you to buy planters, go search them in your home. It can be any old cup, kettle, glass, plastic bottles etc etc. The key is to RECYCLE.
  • Old planters can always be decorated. Just use your imagination and go wild with your crafting skills.
Do you also love making quirky planters. Share with me your ideas in the comments section.

Tom tom Tomatoes

Heyaa everyone!!!!!

Sharing with you today, small cutesy baby tomatoes that have been growing in our backyard. They are growing in brunches and I am totally loving it. It feels so good to see them grow everyday. Just wish they were perennial and could fruit throughout. Though they don't grow too big in size, but even then these small red cherries look and taste awesome.

Have a lookie,
